Glacier National Park Video: Ice, Ice, Baby
Before beginning our year-long national parks trip, Glacier National Park was Cole’s childhood favorite. (Now, 43 parks in, that question is almost impossible to answer.)
Never having been there myself, I had mountain-sized hopes and expectations about this much-loved park spanning across northern Montana and Canada. Even so, the park’s beauty blew. me. away.
This far into our year, it’s hard to think of words. “Amazing,” “beautiful,” “incredible” don’t quite do the parks justice. We feel repetitive, we feel like we owe it to the parks to describe them in a way they deserve. But it’s too damn impossible. There are no words to explain the feeling of paddling down Lake Josephine looking at Grinnell Glacier, then turning to see a grizzly scaling the cliffs a few hundred feet up. There are no words to explain how the mountain air fills up your lungs and energizes your very soul. There are no words to explain a conversation with a woman who had recently lost her husband and was taking to the park for comfort. There are. no. words.
Instead, here’s our Glacier National Park video. It’s a little easier to understand, I think. Enjoy!
